The Meads of Asphodel's seventh album, ’ Gazageddon’ is currently being completed. We humbly submit 4 demo tracks [drums are being tracked in the next few months] This release completes the trilogy of Middle Eastern issues that have shaped our world, beginning with the two Candlelight releases, Murder of Jesus the Jew, and the Holocaust-themed Sonderkommando. Gazageddon is an album of failed humanity. Of human cruelty engineered by past colonial motives. It weeps for the innocent victims of war. Mocks the religious absurdity to justify murder. One of the U.K,s most respected bands for over 28 years. Never compromising. Walking the line of controversy and yet steadfast against racism. The band explores themes that are enamelled in controversy, yet chip away at the surface, and you will find humility and depth. The band has remained resolutely underground, and their choice not to play live has been a double-edged sword. Metatron's potent lyrics cut into the soul as always 'Gazageddon' is the closing chapter of this all-encompassing influence: a desert-dwelling tribe of Hebrews that have, and are influencing, the shaping of our world. From its own sacred writings aligned only to its own people to the world-dominating children it spawned, Christianity and Islam. Voltaire wrote, “that people who believe absurdities are more likely to commit atrocities.” This is true for the colossus we know as God who drowns the world in scriptural gibberish under the numbing specter of heaven. Gazageddon is a lesson in how the weaponizing of a God can malign the application of reason. Where disproportionate retaliation has recurred throughout history. How a deed to land, sanctioned by archaic writings, can displace a people. email-godreah@outlook.com
