The Maisons are the torchbearers of New York’s alternative rock resurgence. Formed on Long Island in 2013, the band blends decades of sonic influences into a sound that is unapologetically rooted in the 90s alt-rock tradition. The band’s origin is the stuff of local legend: singer-songwriter Matthew Edell approached drummer Tyler Boerckel outside a hometown bar with a single, hopeful question: "Do you play any instruments?" That chance encounter ended Edell’s years-long search for a rhythmic counterpart and birthed a creative partnership that has survived a decade of evolution. The Maisons’ trajectory shifted into high gear in 2015 when their single "Trust Me" caught the attention of SXSW, leading to a high-profile performance on the McDonald’s main stage. Despite a period of lineup shifts and the heartbreaking loss of lead guitarist Jon Boyd Rogge in 2018, the band found a path forward. After a period of reflection, they recruited lead guitarist Daniel Casey, eventually collaborating with producer Eren Cannata (Warner Chappell) and engineer James Messlin (Dream Theater) on the standout single "Only You." For The Maisons, the music has always been about more than the bottom line. As Edell puts it, "I am so grateful that I can continue to do what I love” in 2025 Drummer Ray Mazza joined the band and they are now writing new songs to be released later in 2026/2027
