Jay Ivory is a veteran musician/keyboardist/baritone vocalist, & visionary producer whose career spans over 35 years of live performance and studio session work. A Washington, D.C. area native, his artistic foundation is deeply rooted in Gospel, Classic Soul, New-Age Jazz, and indigenous D.C. Go-Go. He launched his professional career at age 13, gigging with the soul and jazz cover band Ray Clark and the Nighthawks. There, he mastered his live contemporary piano chops covering timeless 1950s standards alongside drummer John Smith. Over the decades, his history evolved to include performances with The Tribe Band and renowned artist Eddie Baccus Jr.—collaborations that cement a highly verifiable, well-documented timeline of his professional legacy and deep roots in the live music community. Bridging the gap between authentic live musicianship and modern urban production, Jay leads his BMI-affiliated production house, Art Official Music. His distinctive sound blends traditional live instrumentation with rhythmic 808s and Afro-centric percussions, meticulously crafted on his fully upgraded Roland Fantom X6 workstation. His ability to fuse R&B/Soul/Hip-Hop, & Trap with cinematic soundscapes earned him an endorsement from Grammy-winning producer Zaytoven. As an established force in the industry, his extensive credits include work with Tabria Dixon (Rare Essence), Demi Doc (JunkYard Band), Stomp Dog (NEG/Project 71), and co-producing Tony James' "Game Changer" CD. A dedicated independent artist and mentor, Jay continues to push creative boundaries. His latest multi-track release, the Golden Beautiful EP, is a masterclass in New-Age Jazz and Neo-Afro Soul, prominently featuring his original piano and vocal performances. Whether composing cinematic soundtracks, offering custom sound design, or paying homage to his roots with highly viewed Go-Go remixes, Jay Ivory remains a tireless working musician dedicated to the preservation and evolution of contemporary music.
