Trust the Process was born from one of the hardest seasons of my life. I had just lost my mum, and I found myself on the other side of the world in New Zealand during my book tour, sitting with grief, uncertainty, and a question I could not stop asking: what do I do with all of this?
The answer, it turned out, was a song.
Writing "Trust the Process" felt like writing a letter to myself at my lowest point, and to every person who has ever stood at a crossroads wondering whether the path they are on is actually leading somewhere. Because grief has a way of making everything feel uncertain. And so does ambition. And so does love. And so does simply being human in a world that rarely slows down long enough to let you breathe.
This song is about that moment when you stop fighting the uncertainty and start trusting it instead. That shift from self-doubt to something quieter and stronger. The realisation that every challenge, every detour, every moment that felt like it was breaking you was actually building you. Catharsis is the word that keeps coming back to me when I think about writing it. Because that is exactly what it was.
The production was intentional from the ground up. We wanted a clean, expansive sound that gave the vocals room to breathe and build, starting in a place of reflection and rising into something anthemic. Every synth layer and every beat was meticulously placed to carry that feeling of rising above. Of pushing through. Of arriving, finally, at an unwavering self-belief you did not know you had in you until you needed it.
If you have ever lost someone and had to rebuild yourself from the inside out, this song is for you. If you have ever doubted your path, your purpose, or your worth, this song is for you. And if you have ever found yourself on the other side of something hard and realised you were stronger than you knew, then you already know exactly what Trust the Process sounds like before you have even pressed play.
