My kaval, alongside Petar Milanov's guitar and Kaloyan Minchev's percussion, forms the core of our trio's distinctive sound. We explore the authentic expressiveness of Bulgarian folk music, pushing boundaries through various musical techniques. Our compositions merge traditional timbres with contemporary polyrhythmic groove elements, creating a unique ethno-Balkan-jazz landscape. This symbiosis between instruments allows us to craft original narratives, inviting listeners into a vibrant world where cultural heritage meets modern improvisation. Our upcoming debut album, set for early 2027, embodies this creative dialogue, offering a fresh perspective on Balkan-inspired music.
