Authentic Tina

Authentic is a Kenyan singer, songwriter, bassist and music producer from Kisumu. Her music is a reflection of who she is, what she has experienced, and the people and culture around her. Her sound blends Afro-fusion, Benga and Rhumba with contemporary African sounds. She loves telling stories through music and creating songs that people can connect with, whether they are about love, life, identity, pain, joy or simply everyday experiences. Authentic started her musical journey as a vocalist and later developed an interest in music production. She has trained in music production and bass guitar through the Sanara Program which has allowed her to understand music not only from the perspective of a performer, but also as a creator behind the sound. She has also performed on platforms like BarazaMedia Lab, Dunga Hill Camp, Mama Grace Social Hall, Acacia Premier Hotel and many more. She represents the diversity of Western Kenya, drawing from different languages, cultures and experiences to create music that connects people beyond language.She wants her music to represent where she comes from while still reaching people beyond her home. For Authentic, music is more than performing. It is a way of expressing herself, telling stories and connecting with people!
